Stone Slinger is a tower I designed, modelled and textured for a tower defense game. The story of the game is that a family of bunnies is protecting their garden from mechanical bugs trying to eat the bunnies vegetables. The towers are supposed to look like they were hand made (paw made?) by the bunnies. Since the game is mobile first it was important that the shape of the model is recognizable even at small scale.
Note, I did not do the sculpting on this model. The sculpting was done by Denis Morar.
Here you can see the turnaround concept I drew for the tower. Based on the turnaround I modelled the first version of the tower. After discussing with the art director of the project it was decided that the tower needed to be more stylized. Some details like the rope and wheelbarrow handles had to also be scaled up to be more visually clear from a distance.
